This course is to study special knowledge and techniques such as overhaul skills of mechanical and quartz watches, watch theory, metal work and exterior design essential to become a watchmaker. This course is suitable to those who would like to learn these techniques in short period of time and aim to start working in the industry at the earliest.
The first step in watch repair is tool adjustment. Students learn how to sharpen and shape the tips of screwdrivers and tweezers to fit the grooves on top of screws. The acquired metal processing techniques can be applied to create tools and parts.
Students are trained to use their eyes and hands to apply their skills in tasks requiring high precision as well as in learning the basic structure of watches. They learn how to perform overhauls (disassembly, repair, cleaning, assembly, oiling, and adjustment).
